ADE is expanding its roster of independent experts and is seeking highly experienced Evaluation Team Leaders for upcoming assignments in the humanitarian, peace and development domains.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead complex evaluations from inception to final reporting, ensuring methodological rigor and quality assurance.
  • Design methodologies and develop and adapt quantitative and qualitative assessment tools tailored to diverse stakeholders and thematic areas.
  • Manage multidisciplinary evaluation teams.
  • Oversee and participate in remote and in-person data collection, ensuring ethical and context-appropriate approaches.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement, workshops and co-creation processes.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based analysis and recommendations to inform policy and programming.
  • Lead report writing and ensure high-quality deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 years’ experience as an evaluation Team Leader.
  • At least 5 years leading evaluations for humanitarian agencies and/or on humanitarian issues.
  • Proven track record working with a range of evaluation methodologies and mixed-methods approaches. Experience with theory-based methods required; experience with other approaches preferred, including but not limited to: process tracing, outcome harvesting and mapping, systems-thinking approaches and/or foresight methods.
  • Advanced facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Postgraduate degree in evaluation, public policy, international development, humanitarian affairs, or related social sciences.
  • Experience working in conflict-affected environments is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English or French required; other UN languages an asset.
